The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, today announced an aid order for the execution of forestry treatments in the region, worth 20 million euros. To this order, whose regulatory bases are published today in the DOCM, is added a second line of aid aimed at investments in forest technologies and the transformation, mobilization and commercialization of forest products, which will see the light of day in the coming days and which has with a budget close to four million euros.
During the inauguration of the Villahermosa civic center, in the province of Ciudad Real, the regional president congratulated himself on the fact Phone Number Database that Castilla-La Mancha is “one of the regions that invests the most in forestry treatment” throughout the winter to prevent, in forest fires as much as possible, since they increase the adaptive capacity of forest ecosystems, improve biodiversity and prevent soil degradation.
“In the middle of the wave of fires we invested 24 million euros for aid to prevent next summer's season. I wish we could do it everywhere in Spain, which would help us be prepared and also create jobs,” said García-Page. Not in vain, these aids include as a novelty for their selection a criterion that takes into account depopulation, facilitates the creation of forestry companies and the maintenance of SMEs in rural areas.
Thus, and after warning that we are experiencing a “very considerable climate crisis”, the head of the Castilian-Manchego Executive has requested recognition, as was done in his day with health personnel, for all those who are working these days in the extinguishing fires.
In this sense, he has been “enormously proud” of the fire prevention system that Castilla-La Mancha has and has announced that there are more firefighting personnel from the region working outside than in this Community. “We are helping practically all regions of Spain and I am proud of our people and their work. Our forest firefighters, with forced and risky work, deserve enormous applause,” he acknowledged.
In another vein, the regional president has reiterated the need to "make an effort and listen", a "determining" attitude both in politics and to achieve the achievements that a country like Spain has achieved, "without oil, gas, or benefit from the abundance of water and that it depends on many things”, but which has ended up being an “economic and cultural power”.During this event, the regional president was accompanied by the Minister of Social Welfare, Bárbara García Torijano, the president of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, José Manuel Caballero, and the mayor of Villahermosa, Ángel Cano Nieto, among others.
